Liebesturm
Blücherstraße/Malerwinkel, 55422 Bacharach
According to legend, it was in this very tower that a liaison between a nobleman and a winegrower's daughter met its tragic end. The city wall tower, which was extensively renovated in 2013, is located on the mountain slope between the wooden tower in the Steeger Valley and Stahleck Castle above Bacharach. The city wall is well preserved in this area and can be reached on foot via the city wall circular path. The preserved tower has a wall thickness of 1.5 metres, a width of 6 to 8 metres and an average wall height of 20 metres. It has four to five storeys and was originally opened to the city side. The tower is owned by the city.
